Pricing & Availability

Experience America's fastest growing outdoor sport, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), which originated in Hawaii. Easier than surfing, SUP boards are wider, thicker, and longer, and there's no having to jump up onto a moving board!

Enjoy the calm, clear waters of Lahaina from the unique vantage point of standing on a large, sturdy board. You'll not only get a nice workout and learn proper paddling techniques while maintaining balance, but you'll join scenic views of West Maui and may encounter marine life such as monk seals. Due to the shallow water and the coral reef that rings Lahaina, your local guide will ensure you safely navigate the waters, including leading you to the gaps in the reef. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, your private tour will be personalized to you. Included in the lesson is the board & paddle, long sleeve UV rash guards, and reef shoes.

Booking Tips

If possible, please choose a morning time (7:45, 9, or 10:30) since the conditions are usually better for SUP.

If you would like more than one private 1-on-1 sessions, you will need to complete checkout for the first one before booking each additional one.

Guidebook Reviews

Maui Revealed Guidebook:

Stand up paddling is extremely popular with residents and visitors on Maui

Lonely Planet Guidebook:

SUP, the latest trend, takes coordination to learn, but it’s a lot easier than regular surfing. Everybody’s trying to SUP these days, as a quick glance at Maui’s western coast quickly confirms. The graceful sport is easy to learn, but Maui’s currents can be tricky for newcomers. Beginners should consider a lesson.

Fodor's Guidebook:

SUP is accessible to just about every skill level. Because of the size and speed of a longboard, lessons are highly recommended.

Moon Guidebook:

SUP has seen an explosion in popularity over the past 5 years. Taking a lesson is always the best way to ensure success. In Lahaina, you’ll be awarded with sweeping views of the island’s West Side, and it has the added benefit of being protected from the wind and will usually have calm, flat conditions when Ka’anapali is rough and blustery.
