On this adventure to the highest point in Hawaii (13,796 ft), learn about our universe, the cutting edge scientific research being done on the Big Island, and the special connection Hawaiian history and culture has to the stars and sky. After a private tour and star show at the renowned Imiloa Astronomy Center planetarium in Hilo, you will voyage to Mauna Kea to enjoy multiple stops/walks, breathtaking views, and a visit to the world-famous Keck Observatory. Transport to the summit is with safe and comfortable vans, a deli lunch will be served, and knowledgeable guides will make it an experience to remember with your private group.
The Day Tour is a great way to avoid the colder nighttime temperatures on Mauna Kea. For those who do not wish to visit Hilo (and do the planetarium visit), pick-up can be from Kona or Waikoloa instead. Minimum age is 16 due to altitude.
Don't have a large enough group for this to fit your budget? Consider the more popular sunrise and sunset tours with stargazing.
