Overview

Explore a Hawaiian chocolate farm and spectacular waterfalls on an intimate tour in the scenic hills above Hilo. You’ll learn all about the chocolate making process, from picking a fresh cacao pod from the orchards to walking through a chocolate factory to of course yummy tastings! You’ll also experience amazing views of tropical waterfalls, including famous Rainbow Falls. After a pleasant jungle walk down to another impressive waterfall (Kulaniapia) on private property, you can swim, kayak, and paddleboard, or just relax by the shore. The tour concludes with lunch at a picturesque spot with more waterfall viewing.

Booking Tips

  • No availability? Please email us (contact@travelshack.com) with requested date(s) and # of people so we can possibly add another van.
  • Arriving on the Pride of America cruise ship on a Tuesday? This tour picks up and drops off at your ship (9:30 am - 2:30 pm).

TravelShack's Choice

Why we recommend this option over others
  • Mostly on private property with few if any tourists around (exception: Rainbow Falls)
  • Minimal time stuck in a van, as everything is near each other and very close to downtown Hilo, so you spend the day immersed in nature, not simply being driven around for quick photo ops
  • The most reputable and longest running small group tour operator on the Big Island (over 25 years)
  • Intimate group of only 4-12 people
